My parents live in independent living in the homes behind the main building. They have lived there since 2022 but have lived in Michigan City for most of their lives so finding a clean, safe, affordable, inviting, and local senior living place was very important. We looked around at several in the surrounding area but the best one happens to be the local Michigan City one. Their home is spacious with tall ceilings giving them an even larger feel, but they have walk-in closets in large bedrooms, a spacious living area and kitchen, large single car garage with additional storage space, and a nice back patio. The homes are on a single cul-de-sac road that is very safe for them to walk their dog and see their neighbors. Safety and not having to worry about maintenance were also important to us as they have aged and the open floorplans and wide spacing allows them to use their walkers all through their one-story home and all maintenance is taken care of.The other most important aspect of senior living is the number of activities and social events available at Rittenhouse Michigan City. They have multiple activities each week that they can choose from that allow both social interactions but also exercise and physical activity that is important to us as their kids.It also goes without saying that the staff are very responsive and everyone knows the residents by name. We are very detail-oriented and did our homework with making this significant decision, and I can attest that Rittenhouse in Michigan City has met all the things we were looking for, and most important is that our parents love it there.

Such a beautiful facility with the most professional, and kindest staff to take care of your loved ones. The activities are amazing and there is always something productive going on to keep busy. Michigan City is blessed to have such a wonderful place.

My Aunt Carol moved to a villa at Rittenhouse Village last September, and is now transitioning to assisted living, also at Rittenhouse. We are very impressed with the quality of care that she is receiving and have found all the staff to be kind and professional. Her family is thrilled that she has found an amazing place to now call home.

We love our Villa at Rittenhouse! Having no steps is wonder and we love having our own bathrooms! The garage is perfect for our vehicle and storage! I would recommend Rittenhouse!

I am always thrilled to go into work at Rittenhouse Village in Michigan City. A matter a fact, “work” wouldn’t be the word to describe the joy I have when I am able to spend my time with all the residents. I absolutely love my job! It seems to me that all the staff must feel the same as I do. The staff here greets you kindly, always with a smile, all day long. The staff are so wonderful and welcoming . I am very happy and grateful to be able to be apart of the Rittenhouse community.

My career with Rittenhouse has been the most rewarding in all my ventures. I work side by side with the best of the best. Teamwork abounds with the utmost respect to each and everyone. Our residents are cared for and loved like one big family. We laugh, hug, share stories and yes even cry with each other. I would not have it any other way.

What a great place! My mom, Tracy Riggs has previously worked with Rittenhouse in the past as the activities director and just returned because of how much she absolutely adored the residents! She comes home with a smile on her face and so excited to tell everyone about her day and what fun new activities she has coming up for the Rittenhouse community!

my mom has worked here for 7 1/2 years and loves it, they have lots of fun activities for the seniors, one of the activities i enjoyed was the trick or treating from the residents. The kids enjoyed getting candy and the residents loved seeing their faces light up as they got the candy.
